The Alien Life, one panel Comic. An alien mother and daughter are standing in front of a field of what look like toes. The caption reads: "Let's go dear, we don't have all day, pick a toe."

Have we become theatre of the absurd?

I prefer to choose my words carefully
preposterous foolish ludicrous unreal insane
but I find they are being chosen for me
when I look upon the world as a whole

Was I not a child in love at once with it all
ridiculous strange nonsensical bizarre crazy
and did I not look out beyond my self to find
magic and mysteries in the wonder of a life

When did these other words grow so loud
implausible surreal farcical laughable grotesque
that now they may be the real truth that the world
of wonders has gone hidden or gone forever

No, I think I will take some of these words back
incredible inconceivable unbelievable unimaginable
and choose them carefully while I remember that what
I look upon is more than what is being chosen for me to see
