in this way
we are forever

in the passing
of the spirit,
one to another

we have family
and loves, children
and friends,
all of these
we touch as
deeply as we can

often more deeply
than we know

we have successes,
great and small,
and sometimes we fail
trying to succeed

but in the end
we are the measure
of the spirit
we have shared

one to another,
our spirits pass
with grace

and so,
we are forever,
one to another
