Do you always make it home?
For some of us, home is
everywhere and nowhere,
a place always settled
between here and there,
no time passes wanting more,
the gift of always going home today.
What makes a place to call a home,
is it solely the passing of time spent
living rooted, the memories at once
collected in the bones around?
I think so, yes,
that feels like home to me,
and these places I have settled
for a while, they are that.
So, content always to return,
I am warmed and welcomed by
the roots and bones that I find
I am forever easy in between.
