The Alien Life, one panel Comic. Two aliens are standing together in front of an open portal to the sky. One of them has a huge, magnificent red and orange afro. The caption reads: "C'mon now, really? You don't use any product at all?"

When is it acceptable to laugh out loud at outrageous lies?

It is now far beyond common
to process nonsense daily.
Where once obvious falsehoods
were considered the refuge
of scoundrels and the desperate,
they are now exalted as
legitimate points of debate.

We are moved to become
desensitized to lies.
Not so slowly, the truth
comes to mean less than
the easy acceptance
of ignorance.

It’s not that we are
newly arrived at some
age of foolishness, it is
that we can now spread
the words of nonsense
so effectively.
